I’m not positive, but I’m pretty sure that I just heard a co-worker working out Mary Had a Little Lamb on their phone…

It occurrs to me that when I randomly make repetitive “chk-chk-chook-chk” sounds and move my arms stiffly until I’m down on all fours, that there are probably very few people who remember what I’m talking about.

I thought I’d mention an upcoming photo-essay here on Stuff and Stuff:

People who have vanity license plates never cease to amaze me. If you’re one of those chosen few, sorry, it’s just not my flow. So, for the last few weeks I’ve been taking my camera with me everywhere, always with one eye out for the errant vanity plate. The idea is to get a picture of the plate and (and this is the tricky part), a picture of the driver. I just have to see what SPEDRCR looks like. For some reason, I’ve been using my “good” camera (to get that nice, tight zoom on DRV2FST) instead of my point-and-shoot so I’m anticipating several clear shots of the back-ends of cars; and then, several blurry shots of my passenger seat. Doesn’t matter, though, as a good time was had by all!

SO, keeping in mind that I don’t condone this at all as it’s roughly equivalent to driving while talking on your cell phone blindfolded (not to mention, people are likely to take violent exception to you taking pictures of them), if you do happen to want to play, send me your pictures and I’ll add you to what I hope will be a catalog rivaling those of the Mullet variety.

I visit bluishorange fairly regularly, and this is partially why:

“i feel like a puck still in motion on an abandoned air hockey table, smacking abitrarily off the sides with sharp plastic thwaps, pushed around by geometry and a hollow hiss.”

beautiful allegory. Also, she has rad hair.

Well, that sucks, Meghan got fired. Another casualty in the popped bubble of the e-revolution, perhaps? Negative flak (and can “flak” ever be anything but negative?) for her mention in Newsweek? I dunno. All I do know is that the cool life updates I’ve gotten addicted to are probably now going to be few and far between…

I’ve mentioned before that I used to work at Lockheed. I personally do not recommend it for reasons I will go into in greater detail later. For now, though, I’ve posted a few pics as they’re worth several thousand words…

Also, people hate it when you talk on the phone and fiddle on your computer at the same time. Meg in particular. Sorry.

Thundercats are on the move, Thundercats are loose!
Feel the magic, hear the roar, Thunder cats are loose!
Thunder, thunder, thunder, Thundercats! (repeat 3 times)

Tygra: “Rules are only meaningful if people follow them. Otherwise, they’re just words.”

So. True.

In response to a poll about which appliances you can’t do without, 31,001 Slashdot readers responded with the following:

– TiVo 1884 / 6%
Computer 15924 / 51%
– Microwave 1032 / 3%
– Vacuum 763 / 2%
Refrigerator 5782 / 18%
– CowboyNeal 1840 / 5%
– Television 1296 / 4%
– Home Stereo 2480 / 7%
31001 total votes.

If you really think in terms of survival, am I appalled that the computer beat a refrigerator by 10,000 votes? No, of course not, I’m a total dork, too.

When checking to see if anything new was going on at pyra (read: procrastinating), it occurred to me that the sweet flame logo is awfully similar to the one on the graffiti art site I peruse from time to time, though they claim it’s their own. The point being that ev should obviously go Johnny Cochran on their ass and use the cash-infusion to rescue blogger (or at least buy a cup of coffee or sumpin’).

‘Course, it could have happened the other way around, in which case, errr, never-mind.

So, someone responded to my request for a movie post, but she’s unfortunately in Texas. Even so, Erica, we watched Lost in Space on TV last night, and both agreed that it was Heather Graham’s breakthrough role. Thanks for the good time, but the popcorn was totally stale.
