Just when I thought the party was over, I got one last gracious gift from the effluvious Ariel Meadow Stallings of electrolicious fame.
Animal Farm is one of those books that I read back in school, but know I will appreciate more now… so I’m pretty stoked. Thank you!
Ariel is awesome because she’s one of those friends that I can always count on for wise words or needed constructive criticism. What’s more, she actually is a friend even though we’ve only ever hung out once and live in entirely different cities. I’m not sure how that happened. At any rate, thanks again!
I just took another look at something I did once. The link-back brings you home in a roundabout way, but the essence of the piece is still there. Funny then, and funny now.

It seems appropriate given my smoke-bomb throwing lifestyle and all, but alas, I was assassinated by ninjas today. These things happen.
Also, I believe this gift of an honorable death was for my birthday. I am most pleased.
It seems to me that if I try each of the six radio presets on my car’s stereo and get commercials each of the six times in succession, I should be allowed to drive my truck into at least two, if not three, advertising billboards or other such commercial signage.

Well, we’re back. It was a rather awesome week, and I have the pictures to prove it. We saw really everything there was to see, and had a good time doing it, so….
In more pressing news, thanks to all of you who sent me brithday messages… much love, much love. A very special shout-out as well to Tara who took blogger-worship one step further and floated me an awesome gift: the gift of reading!. (I know that sounds sarcastic, but I’m being sincere, I’m totally stoked on book-presents).
So again, thank you, thank you, thank you! Gift and sentiment very much appreciated.
As for the rest of you, like in weddings, it is still appropriate to float me gifts well after the actual date. You will be forgiven.

It’s hard (or rather, of little interest to me) to take care of my “real’ life while on vacation. Nevertheless, I’ve managed to sound cognizant enough to set up two interviews, and delay one more, while I’ve been out here in the land of monuments and politicians. There will be a plethora of picturas when I get back to my home computer, at which time you will see how ADG and I saw almost everything there is to see in a mere matter of a few days… all while not being rushed, and having a good time. Fascinating, I know.
Speaking of pictures, poor ADG has been subjected to piles upon piles of pictures of Dave as an up and comin’ shorty, before he hit the big time. If I’m thinking straight, I’ll remember to swipe some for my personal embarassment, and your enjoyment….

Tangent: Thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes. It truly is the though that counts, and I greatly appreciate it. For those of you that did send me gifts (love ya!) I’ll be appreciative when I get them…which will be next week. Thanks!
At any rate, ADG and I are heavily steeped in patriotism, and have visited a good portion of the myriad of our Nation’s capitol’s sights (wel that was a grammatical nightmare).
Of special interest was the Korean War Memorial, where an incredulous tourist was questioning an increasingly annoyed stranger-tourist about the actual death figures displayed with infuriating remarks like, “I’m just having trouble believing that many people could have died…that just can’t be right.” And my personal fave, “…but according to the M*A*S*H show…”
